Laser cut graters cost approximately £18 but are well worth the investment.  They can be bought in a variety of shapes and sizes with fine, medium or coarse blades. 

 

Some brands have double sided blades – grating on the up stroke as well as the down. They make light work of zesting citrus fruit and tougher tasks such as grating fresh Parmesan or ginger.
